Jason Schmidt is more than just a coach—he’s a mentor who’s passionate about helping young pitchers grow both on and off the field. With over 25 years of coaching experience, he brings a simple, focused approach that helps players build confidence and improve the right way.
He emphasizes both the mental side of the game and proper mechanics, teaching athletes how to throw strikes, stay composed, and develop the habits needed for long-term success.
BIOGRAPHY
ABOUT COACH JASON
Born in Wisconsin, his family moved to Sarasota, FL in 1984 where he grew up and lived until he recently just moved to Woodstock, GA in July. Jason pitched for Sarasota High School and won back-to-back state championships in 1993 & 1994, as well as a national championship in 1994. USA Today named his team the “National Team of the Decade” in 1994.
After high school, I received full scholarships to pitch for junior college powerhouse Manatee Community College, now State College of Florida, for 2 years, then moving on to University of West Florida to finish out his college career.
After college, I got into coaching. I’ve coached all ages at all levels from little league, travel ball, and high school. I have 12 years coaching experience at the high school varsity level.
I am married to my beautiful wife Tara of 12 years. I have 2 amazing German Shepherds, and in my free time I enjoy golfing, traveling, and watching the Braves.
